Happy Friday! This week’s Photo Friday comes to us from the San Francisco de Asis Mission Church.
Located on the main plaza of Ranchos de Taos, San Francisco de Asis Mission Church is a beautiful example of New Mexico’s architecture. It was built between 1772 and 1816 by the Franciscan Fathers and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1970. This particular building inspired countless artists, including Georgia O’Keefe, Ansel Adams, Paul Strand, and Ned Scott. In fact, Georgia O’Keefe once described it as, “one of the most beautiful buildings left in the United States by the early Spaniards.”
